Utilicast will provide consulting services to support an Eastern mid-size electric utility’s investigation for a SCADA system event that caused a loss of monitoring and control, impacting their operations. Utilicast services include assessing the SCADA incident, identifying possible causes, supporting testing, and providing a report with suggested recommendations. It also includes supporting the utility’s architecture assessment of their T&D SCADA system along with facilitating industry benchmarking.
Utilicast will collaborate with a large International Energy Marketing and Trading organization to review their detailed project scope and generation modeling assumptions for a commercial transmission access study.

Utilicast will perform consulting services for a Mountain regulated utility to assist in developing their customer centric Distributed Energy Resources (DER) Strategy that can start with limited participation program/demonstration projects and be expanded to overall DER programs that support the utility’s transition to 100% carbon-free grid.

In September 2022, a large Eastern investor-owned utility had a major storm that affected a significant portion of its service territory. The utility intends to evaluate the performance of its recently implemented Outage Management System (OMS) and the corresponding operations processes during the storm to identify and prioritize measurable candidate improvements. Utilicast will provide consulting services to support the utility’s OMS storm evaluation and improvement plan efforts to identify and prioritize measurable candidate improvements.
Utilicast will provide consulting services, project leadership, and subject matter expertise to facilitate and ensure the successful implementation of a Central mid-size regulated electric utility’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) upgrade to include OMS, SOM, and Advanced Applications. Utilicast’s services will include technical leadership, SME support for key project components, functional application design, configuration and integration coordination, testing, and advisory services through deployment and stabilization.
Utilicast will conduct a CAISO Energy Imbalance Market (EIM) project scoping, future state, capability gap assessment, and vendor RFP/selection criteria for a large Pacific irrigation district.
As a part of an Eastern mid-size electric utility’s Grid Modernization program, it will deploy a Distribution Management System (DMS) and Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS). To prepare for these initiatives and finalize the Statement of Work (SOW) with their selected software vendor, the utility will be revisiting the Grid Modernization roadmap and system requirements. This includes Distribution Management System (DMS)/Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) use cases and dependencies, along with prioritization/review of requirements to support the use cases. Utilicast shall provide consulting services to support the utility’s roadmap and requirements review for the DMS/DERMS.
