Utilicast was hired by a Regional Transmission Owner to manage a project to replace critical infrastructure. The scope of this project is to drive the installation, configuration, testing of hardware and associated applications, and the retirement of replaced hardware. The project manager will work across the Operations and IT organizations to organize, execute and monitor the progress of the migrations, performance, and configuration and test results.

An Electric Cooperative hired Utilicast to perform an incident analysis of the Cooperative’s response to the February 2021 Extreme Cold Weather Event in Texas. This project includes identifying risk mitigation priorities, ways to improve internal communications, review of outage and restoration efforts as well as process and policy review.

A Western U.S. utility hired Utilicast to help them evaluate potential efficiencies to be gained in their technology, processes, and team structure. This effort involves baselining with other utilities in the Western U.S. and evaluating day-to-day activities and projects that are ongoing within the EMS organization. The objective is to support long-term planning by developing a roadmap and providing staffing level input to support the long term objectives of the EMS team.

Through a competitive RFP process, Utilicast was awarded distribution system integration work at a Southwestern U.S. utility. Utilicast was hired to support the identification and utilization of an industry standard for a subset of Electric Distribution Data for the client’s Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) implementation.

A Southwestern U.S. utility hired Utilicast to provide EMS advisory and quality assurance services. The initial phase consists of supporting a replanning effort including defining the project execution strategy and approach for each phase, comprehensive and rigorous documentation of requirements and business processes, definition of the flow of activities, dependencies and estimated durations, and core project team dedicated to the project execution. Utilicast will provide EMS advisory throughout the project. Longer-term, Utilicast will also provide executive Quality Assurance for the project through project close out.
