Utilicast was hired by a Western U.S. utility to support them with a significant transition from a legacy SCADA system to a modern EMS. The main effort includes developing the EMS SCADA models and testing those models with field personnel. The SCADA modeling project is part of a major effort at the utility to modernize and improve situational awareness and control systems in the control room for their transmission operations function.
Utilicast was hired by a Regional Transmission Owner to manage a project to replace critical infrastructure. The scope of this project is to drive the installation, configuration, testing of hardware and associated applications, and the retirement of replaced hardware. The project manager will work across the Operations and IT organizations to organize, execute and monitor the progress of the migrations, performance, and configuration and test results.
An Electric Cooperative hired Utilicast to perform an incident analysis of the Cooperative’s response to the February 2021 Extreme Cold Weather Event in Texas. This project includes identifying risk mitigation priorities, ways to improve internal communications, review of outage and restoration efforts as well as process and policy review.
